Who this covers

This policy describes how Yop & Tom Garden Companion (the "service") collects and uses personal information when you create an account and use the app.

What we collect

• Account data: email address and authentication details needed to sign you in securely.
• Content you add: plant records, garden plans, journal entries, photos you upload, care schedules, harvest logs, inventories, tasks, and similar data stored in your workspace.
• Technical data: basic diagnostics the hosting platform may log (for example IP address and timestamps) to run and protect the service.

Why we use it

We process this information to provide and improve the service, keep your account secure, sync your data across devices, and respond to support issues. We do not sell your personal information.

Plant identification & photos

If you use plant scan or similar features, images or identifiers you submit may be sent to a third-party identification provider solely to return suggestions. That provider processes data under its own terms; we recommend reviewing their policy if you use those features regularly.

Where data is stored

Your account and content are held on infrastructure operated by our suppliers (including database and authentication services). Data may be processed in regions where those providers operate, subject to contractual safeguards appropriate to the service.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account exists and for a short period afterwards where needed for backups, legal obligations, or dispute resolution, unless the law requires otherwise.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can update much of your content in the app; for account deletion or other requests, contact us through the same support or billing channel you use for this product.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and adjust the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
